9 to 5, The Musical
June 19 29, 2013It all began with a film comedy in 1980 about three secretaries who imagined how they might overthrow the male corporate structure that dominated their office. The girls successfully removed their boss from the daily office routine, and implemented progressive business ideas of their own.
The film starred Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, and Dolly Parton, who wrote the it movie theme song, and Dabney Coleman, who played the "sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot" boss.
A stage musical of the same name opened on Broadway in 2009 and was nominated for four Tony Awards.
